Dr. Pattie heads the Youth Mental Health Group at Sangath, a leading mental health research institute in India. She focuses on creating and assessing mental health programs for adolescents, using her expertise in global health and psychology (PhD, University of Sussex; MSc, University of Oxford). Her work involves youth-led research, digital storytelling interventions, and public outreach. She launched the "It’s Ok To Talk" campaign in 2016, later recognized by Facebook as a top global youth mental health initiative. Pattie's projects—supported by major funders like the Wellcome Trust and Comic Relief—include Baatcheet, Metropolis, and Outlive, which address depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention in young people.
Youth Mental HealthDr. Srividya Iyer, a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair and Professor of Psychiatry at McGill University, is a leading psychologist focused on youth mental health and early intervention for serious conditions like psychosis. She directs ACCESS Open Minds, a national Canadian network serving diverse youth populations, and co-leads initiatives supporting Indigenous communities across Canada. Her research emphasizes stakeholder engagement, implementation science, and collaborative community-based approaches, with global projects in India, Nigeria, and Bangladesh. Widely recognized for her contributions, she has received the Royal-Mach-Gaensslen Prize, McGill’s Principal Prize, and other national honors. Srividya also mentors a wide range of trainees through her Youth Mental Health Collective.
Youth Mental HealthDan is an experienced researcher and practitioner with over two decades of work in inclusive youth participation. His focus is on empowering children and young people to shape policy and build effective participatory systems. Starting out as a youth worker in England, he now collaborates with organizations across Europe and beyond to strengthen youth engagement strategies. In 2017, he led the redesign of the EU Youth Dialogue consultation process, which reached nearly 50,000 young people and played a key role in shaping the European Youth Goals.
